Pleyel
Marc Mimram Architects and Engineers has won a competition to design the new link between Pleyel and La Plaine stations in Saint Denis, Paris in July 2016.
The project is more than just a functional link and will create public space in the centre of the city. It is an inhabited place, a place of transit but also a place to stop and enjoy what the city has to offer.
The footbridge element will be 50m at its widest point and become a 12,00m2 animated and generous public space crossing 12 railway lines.
The Pleyel neighborhood has developed significantly in recent years but there is now an urgent need for more public space in this area of the city. The new bridge will connect the community with the infrastructure, transforming this functional space into a valued public amenity.
