The project designed by our team Marc Mimram Architecture Ingénierie, Greisch, Seti and Phytolab was chosen as the winner of the competition for the construction of the footbridge over the Loire and the extension of the Viaduc des Noëls in Blois.
The 380 meters long by minimum 4 meters wide new footbridge and the extension of the Viaduc des Noëls should welcome their first users in about four years.
The footbridge constitutes a succession of sequences which organize a promenade over the Loire.
The structure is carried as a superstructure above the deck and in a dual way as an infrastructure under the deck. Thus, the long curve in plan of the footbridge corresponds to a gentle curve in elevation which allows the views of the river to open asymmetrically, directing them towards the city.
In the curves of this structure will be added two large belvederes which will offer places of contemplation on the river and the city.
We have placed sustainable development at the heart of our project approach, by developing an internal approach on the subject, notably integrating the carbon footprint associated with structural and material choices.
