The Beng Bu Bridge is located near the center of Tianjin just to the east of the Feng Hua Bridge. Like the other, this bridge is constructed in relation to the pedestrian links with the park which runs along the Hai He River. The structures are eccentric, bearing laterally both the horizontal deck and the curves of the footbridges that lead to the banks.

The arches and the hoops form a doubly curved structure that accommodates a multiplicity of possible crossings in a three-dimensional way, along a band shaped like a “Möbius strip” that circles around the work.

The cantilevered curvilinear walkways widen into balconies overlooking the river. The complex geometry of the structure was formed by the connection between calculation, static diagram and fabrication made possible by computer-controlled sheet metal cutting tools.
