The project aims to transform an aging facility into a contempo-rary, adaptable stadium fully rooted in its territory and environ-ment. Lowering the playing field by 2.5 meters recenters the pitch, reduces noise disturbance, and refocuses views.
The landscape becomes a structuring element of the project, with two large vege-tated embankments forming a protective setting. They strengthen the area’s ecological continuity and anticipate the future stands. The new main stand asserts the stadium’s identity through a lightweight, perforated woven-wood roof that filters light. Its internal organization is intuitive: a lower concourse en-circling the pitch, an intermediate terrace offering unob-structed views, and a rooftop that will ultimately allow si-multaneous enjoyment of the lake and the Alpine reliefs. A facility that is restrained in its architectural expression, firmly anchored in its territory, open to its surroundings, and designed for future evolution, seeking not only to host matches, but to become a place of life, gathering, and collective pride for Thonon-les-Bains.
