Official Installation of the Olympic Rings and Agitos – Pleyel Urban Footbridge
06.25 / Project
The Olympic Rings and Agitos now stand atop the Pleyel Urban Crossing !
On the occasion of Olympic Day, Marc Mimram had the honor of attending the unveiling of the Olympic Rings and Agitos on this emblematic structure in Saint-Denis – a project we designed and built on behalf of Plaine Commune.
A true link between the Pleyel and Landy neighborhoods, this footbridge represents a strategic connection in the urban landscape of Saint-Denis.
It connects two stations of the new Grand Paris Express network and, during the Games, served as a key route between the Olympic Pool and the Grand Stadium, the Olympic Village, and the Seine.
But beyond its functional purpose, the crossing was conceived as a public space in its own right – a suspended plaza above the railway tracks, a balcony overlooking the north of Paris.
A powerful moment shared in the presence of:
Mathieu Hanotin, President of Plaine Commune and Mayor of Saint-Denis
Stéphane Troussel, President of the Departmental Council of Seine-Saint-Denis
Animya N'tchandy, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister
Hakim Arezki, Paralympic medalist in blind football
Sara Balzer, Olympic medalist in sabre fencing
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all our partners for their trust in this key project for the Pleyel district, the city of Saint-Denis, and the legacy of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
