Guillaume André

Architect, partner

Born in 1973 and graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles, he developed during his studies a particular interest in urban planning and landscape. This guided his diploma and his dissertation, both focused on understanding and transforming the peri-urban environment. Alongside his studies, private commissions allowed him to quickly confront the art of building and to connect with companies and workers, while his collaborations with the young collective Encore Heureux awakened him to a less academic approach of the practice of Architect. Then through collaborations alongside Pascal Cribier and Michel Péna, he continued to sharpen his view on the transformation of the landscape and a possible hybridization between nature and architecture. An approach that he will experiment with through the “Infranature” project, second prize of Europan 8 on the Stavanger site in Norway.

He joined Marc Mimram’s agency in 2003. He took a leading role in buildings projects. and was quickly in charge of the agency's major projects relating to town planning and architecture. In 2013, he participated in the Scientific Council of the Atelier du Grand Paris alongside Yves Lion and François Leclercq, to focus in particular on metropolitan infrastructures. In 2016, he became a partner of Marc Mimram Architecture & Ingénierie.

His work at the office focused on numerous building projects in the competition phase as well as in the study phase. We can cite several sports and aquatic facilities including those of Meudon, Les Ulis and Morlaix and more recently the competition for the Olympic Aquatic Center in Paris. However, he develops projects of all kinds: the headquarters of the Postal Bank in Lyon, the National Archives of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, the Carreau des Halles in Paris, the new Roland-Garros Court, the Arena 92 Stadium, the Paris High Court, the MacDonald Warehouse Offices in collaboration with François Leclercq, the Panorama real estate complex (bridge-building above the SNCF railways, ZAC Paris Rive Gauche) and the new TGV station Montpellier Sud-de-France.

More recently, he delivered the Vinci Headquarters in Nanterre in collaboration with Jean-Paul Viguier, the multi-sports facility of Meudon, the Agro Paris Tech Campus and the Nantes Design School. Currently in charge of large-scale operations such as the construction of Hangar 105 in Rouen, he continues to manage the agency's major projects. In this capacity, he recently contributed to the success of the Cité de la Gastronomie project in Rungis.

Totally involved in the agency's approach which combines engineering and architecture, he participates in the deployment of know-how, the transmission of knowledge within the agency and outside, and actively contributes to the development of the activity towards new, ever more unique and committed projects.
